  • Age Requirement: Snow tubing is available to guests ages 6 and older.
  • Sessions: The resort offers scheduled 90-minute tubing sessions on Saturdays and Sundays during the winter season.
  • Equipment: Guests must use tubes provided by Sunrise, and each person rides in their own tube.

Ski Bikes

Ski biking, also called skibobbing, combines the basic design of a bicycle with skis instead of wheels.

  • Age: Ski bike lessons are available for guests ages 13 and older.
  • Certification: First-time ski bike riders must complete a safety certification before loading the lifts.
  • Rentals: Ski bikes are available to rent at the resort, with availability subject to change.

The Sunrise Apache Alpine Coaster delivers a different kind of winter adventure. Individual carts allow riders to control their speed with a hand brake while enjoying drops, turns, and mountain views.

  • Track: The coaster features 3,287 feet of track with a 207-foot elevation change.
  • Speed: Individual carts can reach speeds of up to 25 mph.
  • Riders: Children can ride with a parent when they meet the applicable height requirements.
  • Requirements: Riders must be at least 54 inches tall to drive, while passengers must be at least 38 inches tall.

Summer Activities

When the snow melts, Sunrise Park Resort becomes a mountain playground for thrill seekers, families, and anyone looking for a cool escape from Arizona’s summer heat.

Summer Tubing

Sunrise’s summer tubing hill provides a fast-paced alternative to traditional winter tubing.

  • Age: Summer tubing is available to guests ages 6 and older.
  • Lanes: The hill features three tubing lanes.
  • Lift: A Pony Double chairlift carries tubers to the top of the hill.
  • Tickets: Current summer pricing is $21 for youth ages 6-17 and $26 for adults.

Downhill Mountain Biking

Sunrise is home to Arizona’s only lift-served downhill mountain biking trails, with several difficulty options available.

  • Lift Access: Riders can use the resort lifts to reach the mountain bike trails.
  • Rentals: Specialized mountain bikes are available to rent, with several models offered.
  • Safety: Helmets are required, while full-face helmets and protective pads are recommended.
  • Passes: Visitors can purchase daily or seasonal mountain bike passes.

Zip Line

The course begins at about 10,000 feet above sea level and includes multiple zip lines, a suspension bridge, and the Apache High Flyer.

  • Weight Requirement: Riders must weigh between 70 and 230 pounds.
  • Reservations: Reservations are required for the Apache High Flyer.
